• Jeremy Lin and Lecrae Can’t Sleep - NBA Finals, Game 6

  Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin and Christian hip hop artist Lecrae had a hard time sleeping last night after the emotional rollercoaster ride that was Game 6 in the NBA finals.

• House to Vote on Late-Term Abortion Ban

  The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” today, a bill that bans abortions after 20 weeks with the exception of cases of rape and incest against a minor.

• Death Row Inmate Released, Forgiven by Victim's Grandson

  Paula Cooper, the woman who killed an elderly Bible study teacher in Gary, Indiana with a butcher knife at the age of 15, was released from prison on Monday after having found reconciliation with the victim’s grandson. Of the four teenagers who participated in the crimes against Ruth Pelke, Cooper was the only one to be convicted for murder.

  

• Miss USA, Math Whiz

  Erin Brady, a 25-year-old accountant from Connecticut, won the Miss USA beauty pageant on Sunday. The organization, which promotes breast and ovarian cancer awareness, is said to look for contestants who are not only beautiful, but intelligent also.

  

• Merry Christmas Bill Grants Freedom of Speech for Christians, Jews

  Texas Governor Rick Perry signed the “Merry Christmas Bill” on June 13 which gives teachers and students the freedom to give traditional winter greetings, like “Merry Christmas” and “Happy Hanukkah.” This bipartisan bill also protects their right to make flyers or posters with such sayings, and allows schools to display religious décor such as Christmas trees, Menorahs, and Nativity Scenes.
