• Texas House Passes Late-Term Abortion Bill; Christians Rally National Support

  The Texas House passed a bill this morning that will make late-term abortions illegal in Texas if successfully passed in the Senate. The bill will also require that abortion clinics raise health care standards to better protect women’s health.

  

• Dr. Tony Evans to Host Men and Women’s Conferences in July

  Dr. Tony Evans will host a conference for men entitled “No More Excuses!” on Saturday, and will later host “Desperate for Jesus,” for women on July 27. The well-known Dallas pastor will team up with former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, Jr. and musician Kirk Franklin for the men’s session. Evans and his wife, Lois, will also speak alongside Christian author Priscilla Shirer and singer Crystal Lewis two weeks later for the women’s conference.

• Greg Abbott, Mike Huckabee Rally for Late-Term Abortion Ban in Texas

  Pro-life proponents rallied at the Texas Capitol in Austin on Monday evening, testifying to the horrors of abortion and praying for the massacre of babies in America to end - among speakers in support of life were former Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, Pastor Robert Jeffress from First Baptist Church in Dallas, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar from the television show "19 Kids & Counting."

  

• Two Chinese Students Mourned after San Francisco Plane Crash

  Two Chinese high-school students from the eastern Zhejiang province of China lost their lives in Saturday’s plane crash in San Francisco. Wang Linjia and Ye Mengyuan, who were participating in a three-week cultural immersion class along with 33 other students, are being mourned by their parents and classmates.

  

• Manny Ramirez Signs with Texas Rangers After Playing for Taiwan Baseball League

  The Texas Rangers are giving former Red Sox and Chinese Baseball League player Manny Ramirez a second chance at the Major Leagues. The player, who had a controversial history in Major League Baseball (MLB), now professes to be a newly born again Christian.
